Co-founders and Directors of Coaching, Jeff Illingworth and Billy Garton began Manchester Soccer Club in 2001 and have seen the club grow significantly in the past seven years.  From five teams in year one to twenty eight teams at present, Manchester has established itself as one of Southern California’s premier soccer club.

Jeff has an outstanding coaching pedigree, and has vast experience, having coached in San Diego for twenty years.

Billy played professional soccer in England, with Manchester United, for ten years and has also coached at the professional level back in Europe.

Jeff and Billy are proud of their background in Education.  They feel their years in teaching is a valued added commodity when coaching soccer, as they see many opportunities to draw upon their teaching skills and experience.

Manchester has won numerous Presidio League Titles as well as many tournaments in Southern California.  It is a highly regarded club in the San Diego area and a strong contender for both boys and girls, at every level.

We are constantly building a strong foundation for the club, with our younger programs consistently successful. We are proud of our successes, and also proud of our lower level players who show significant development as they have moved through our club.

Everyone is treated equally at Manchester, “A” teams through “C” teams, State Cup contenders and U8 bracket players, everyone gets the same deal – this is our philosophy and we are very proud of it!
