Academy Program

Manchester Soccer Club is proud to announce the introduction of its Soccer
Academy Program, available to all teams playing at the highest possible level in
league play.

All teams in our club playing at the highest level will be ‘titled’ Academy teams.
(E.g. BU13 Red will now be BU13 Academy).

The aim of our new Academy status is to help provide those ‘elite’ teams with a
program that allows for extra and longer practice sessions. The Academy teams will
also benefit from ‘guest’ coaches taking their sessions throughout the year. These guest
coaches will be coaches from the Olympic Development Program (ODP), College
coaches, and Professional players and coaches.

Our aim is to expose our elite players to other elite coaches and their ideas. This
will allow our guest coaches to work on specific concepts that will help the
development of our players. Even at the younger ages in our club, we will begin to
identify our Academy teams as they move through our club ranks.

Academy teams are targeted in our club as teams filled with serious soccer
players, players that are willing to be committed to getting better. Our commitment as
a club is to provide a ‘platform’ to help elevate our elite players and teams to the next
level. Players in the Academy teams should be prepared to embrace the ‘extra’ help
we are providing and should respect the additional benefits offered to them.
Three player evaluations will be provided for our Academy teams. Our
consistent feedback and evaluations are to push our ‘elite’ players to work harder to
get better.

Our Academy coaches are committed to provide our Academy teams and
individual players with a soccer curriculum that meets the needs of a serious soccer
player.

Some clubs are more concerned about recruiting to make their teams stronger.
At Manchester, we are much more focused and concerned with developing the talent
and potential we see in our own players. Having a ‘keen eye’ to spot potential and
having the expertise and skill to develop a player is something we pride ourselves on at
Manchester.

Our Academy program will be dedicated to maximizing the potential of the
individual player and consequently the potential of the team they play for.
